This was a research presentation on Transfer Price Mechanism (TPM) as a tool in management towards productivity, efficiency and profitability improvement in an organization. This was presented as a theme study for my Masters in Finance.
The approach to study was based on the State Bank of India - the largest Bank in India, and perhaps the largest in world by number of branches (~14,000) as it set about its operations and control through effective movement in TPM. The paper studied hard published data on SBI's financial reports during he years 1998 through 2006.
The Transfer Pricing as a concept originated for internal profit distribution and reallocation of revenue attributes among the various departments of an organization. Taking SBI as a reference example, it can be leveraged to gain lateral advantage to achieve effective performance growth in targeted business areas.
